How we found her

We found Karuna through pastor J. B . Bhitrakoti of Ananta Juvan Church, Lalitpur, Nepal. Her father died because he wasnít given any medical treatment. Her mother is unskilled and doesnít own any land. Karuna is one of 6 children. She has 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Her mother works very hard carrying heavy items on her back for very low pay so that she can afford to feed her children. Karunas family is very poor, underprivileged and has no hope for the future. They donít have enough food to feed all the children and they donít have proper shelter. They live in the countryside outside of Kathmandu in a very low standard rented house without heating, or water. When Karuna arrived at NHOC she was very hungry and was covered in bruises, blisters and bites. We took her in with her birth certificate and her fathersí death certificate and a recommendation letter from her village development committee. Karuna is growing in to a charming, friendly, beautiful and delightful little girl. She is full of love and life and is very happy in our NHOC home.
